Explore the scenic beauty of Assam and Meghalaya on this 6-day journey. Begin in Shillong with visits to Umium Lake, Cherrapunjee’s waterfalls and caves, and Asia’s cleanest village—Mawlynnong. Witness the crystal-clear waters of the Umgot River in Dawki. Travel to Guwahati to visit famous temples like Kamakhya and Umananda, and enjoy a serene Brahmaputra River cruise. Accommodation is provided in premium hotels including Centre Point and Ratnamouli Palace. This tour blends natural wonders, cultural heritage, and memorable experiences.
Packages Itinerary (Day Wise) :
Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station, you will be warmly greeted by our representative. Begin your scenic drive to Shillong, the capital city of Meghalaya, also known as the “Scotland of the East”.
En route, visit the serene and picturesque Umiam Lake (also known as Barapani), a large man-made reservoir surrounded by forested hills – an ideal spot for photography and relaxation.
On reaching Shillong, check in to your hotel. If time permits, you may visit the tranquil Ward’s Lake, a popular leisure spot surrounded by lush gardens and walking trails.
Evening: Free to relax and explore the surroundings at your own pace.

After breakfast, embark on a full-day excursion to Cherrapunjee, one of the wettest places on earth, known for its lush landscapes and dramatic waterfalls.
Visit the following attractions:
Dwan Syiem Viewpoint – A scenic viewpoint offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Khasi Hills.
Nohkalikai Falls – The tallest plunge waterfall in India.
Mawsmai Caves – Explore these natural limestone caves adorned with stalactites and stalagmites.
Seven Sisters Falls – A set of seven cascading waterfalls nestled amidst greenery.
Eco Park – Maintained by the Meghalaya government, offering views of the Sylhet plains of Bangladesh.
On your return to Shillong, stop by the beautiful Elephant Falls, named for an elephant-shaped rock that once stood here.
Evening: You may visit Police Bazaar, Shillong’s bustling market, perfect for shopping local handicrafts and savoring local cuisine.

Post breakfast, drive to Mawlynnong Village, located in the East Khasi Hills. Fondly known as “God’s Own Garden”, Mawlynnong was declared the cleanest village in Asia by Discover India magazine in 2003. The village showcases eco-tourism at its best, with beautifully maintained paths, bamboo dustbins, and vibrant flower beds.
Highlights of Mawlynnong include:
Single Decker Living Root Bridge – Located in the nearby village of Riwai, this unique bridge is made from the aerial roots of rubber trees.
Balancing Rock – A natural wonder where a massive boulder rests precariously atop a smaller rock.
Later, drive to Dawki, a small border town on the India–Bangladesh border (Tamabil Border). The highlight here is the stunning Umngot River, famous for its crystal-clear waters, giving an illusion that boats are floating in the air. You can enjoy a serene boat ride on the river (payment to be made directly).
Return to Shillong in the evening and check in to your hotel.

After an early breakfast, check out from the hotel and begin your drive to Guwahati, the gateway to the Northeast, nestled on the banks of the Brahmaputra River.
On arrival, check in to your hotel. If time permits, visit:
Shankardev Kalakshetra – A cultural institution showcasing the history, culture, and art of Assam.
Balaji Temple – A beautifully constructed temple known for its serene ambiance and South Indian architectural style.
Evening: Free for leisure or optional shopping at local markets.
Overnight stay in Guwahati.
After breakfast (around 8:00 AM), set out for a full-day sightseeing tour of Guwahati, exploring both spiritual and natural attractions.
Places to visit include:
Kamakhya Temple – One of the most revered Shakti Peethas in India, dedicated to Goddess Kamakhya, located atop Nilachal Hill.
Navagraha Temple – An ancient temple dedicated to the nine celestial planets.
Umananda Temple – Situated on Peacock Island in the middle of the Brahmaputra River, this Shiva temple can be reached by a short ferry ride.
Assam State Zoo and Botanical Garden – Home to diverse species and perfect for families and nature lovers.
Evening: Enjoy a sunset cruise on the Brahmaputra River (subject to weather and availability; payment to be made directly). Experience mesmerizing views of the river and Guwahati city as the sun dips below the horizon.
Overnight stay in Guwahati.
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and transfer to Guwahati Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey.
